HeroHomes Golf Classic
Since HeroHomes began its mission to build homes for veterans in 2015, the Spc. Stephan L. Mace Annual Golf Classic has provided our team with a source of inspiration and purpose. As a past beneficiary of this event, we honor Stephan’s sacrifice and the opportunity to build a future for local veterans in respectfully announcing the launch of the inaugural HeroHomes Golf Classic.
The 4th Annual 2024 HeroHomes Golf Classic will take place Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club in Purcellville, Virginia. Helping HeroHomes to fund its 6th home for a veteran, the tournament will highlight the best part about Loudoun County – and the reason we chose to establish our veteran homes here – the community!
Prior tournaments have sold out every year with 36 competing teams supported by more than 50 local businesses who all contribute through sponsorships and donations. Ready to become a sponsor or just want to play and support our mission? Learn how you can do both by visiting us at HeroHomesLoudoun.org.

Our Inspiration
The inspiration for HeroHomes began in early 2015 when Jason Brownell was asked to manage a home building project in Lovettsville, Virginia for wounded veteran Tony Porta. Tony is a medically retired Marine corporal who was burned beyond recognition by a roadside bomb while serving in Iraq. The brave veteran suffered horrible burns to 35% of his body when his Humvee drove over an improvised explosive device in Al Asad, Iraq on May 5, 2007. Tony has undergone 128 surgeries to repair the burn damage. Incredibly, Tony has overcome his injuries and is now married to his wife Deicy. Tony has 2 children, Kenneth Charles in memory of his two deceased friends Kenneth and Charles who saved his life that fateful day in Iraq, and a daughter named Grace.
